Welcome to the website for the 38th National Truck-In, 'Back
on the Farm', hosted by VAN NY. This site is to inform and enlighten
you as we prepare to greet you in New York in July 2010. There
are many things to get ready for your visit and we also hope
that you will take a little extra time to visit and learn about
our beautiful state of New York. Once you leave the concrete
jungle, there is a lot to see and do!
The Washington County Fairgrounds in Greenwich,
NY has hosted many VAN eVANts over the years-Class Act was there
for 5 years (I could be off by 1 or 2!), the 19th Nationals in
1991 were at these grounds and Lost Memorial Day weekend is at
these same grounds every year. They are very aware of the needs
of Vanners and have made us very comfortable in the past. The
land is very flat, grassy in areas, not grassy in others, lots
of power and water hook-ups, real restrooms with hot showers,
food vendor on site, announcement speakers you can hear!, indoor
stage area for bands, large vendors row, close to touristy spots,
not far from some farm markets, a stop in town is close by and
lots more! The Washington County Fairgrounds does ask for a bit
of co-operation from us though, in that we walk our pets in the
designated areas, pick up after them, and that we make use of
the restroom facilities provided and pay mind to where our trash
and used water supply end up when we are finished. VAN NY and
the staff at the grounds say thank you in advance for all your
cooperation on this matter!
VAN NY is working very hard in order to
bring a Great State of New York eVANt to the Vanners that will
be coming to 38th National Truck-In. From the standards of show-n-shine,
bright-n-shine, Vanners nite in, a parade into town, bands, trophies
etc.; we will also be showing off the Empire State as a whole.
From wings in the west to wine in the center and syrup to the
north, New York food and beverage is best straight from the farm.
New York has tons of beaches, located on two Great Lakes, many
Finger Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway, the Hudson River, and
more. Mountain ranges are found all over the state, from the
Alleghany in the southwest, Catskills in the southeast to the
Adirondacks in the north, there are hiking trails and campgrounds
to pass a day or two within our borders. We will be sharing some
of our favorite areas with you in our 'Things to do' section-just
in case you want to see for yourselves.
Please check out our FAQ section for further
info and should you still have questions, send a note to 38thVANNY@vannin.com
and it will be forwarded to the right people for more assistance.
A little about us, VAN NY (Vanners Associated
for the Nats in New York) is an organization of Vanners for the
execution of the 38th National Truck-IN. The Vanners that make
up VAN NY come from not only New York, but also from near and
far.
These Vanners have volunteered as individuals in order to get
our job done and many are active members of varied clubs and
councils.
The board is comprised of Vanners all from
New York and they are working hard with the grounds, the Nats
Board, and the members of VAN NY in order to bring you the best
National Truck-In yet!
